AVX has introduced an automotive series for TransGuard
products. A new series name has been assigned that will
differentiate automotive grade from commercial products,
VCAS. This is a paperwork change as there is no change to
the current process, materials, manufacture location, etc.
Going forward, the VC series will be classified as
commercial and VCAS as automotive grade. The VCAS will
maintain the current design. There is no change to form,
fit, function, or manufacturing location resulting from
this change.

TransGuard MLVs are zinc oxide (ZnO) based ceramic semiconductor devices with non-linear voltage-current characteristics (bi-directional) similar to back-to-back Zener diodes.
