IGBTs are commonly used in high-power inverter and converter circuits and can require significant isolated gate drive power to switch optimally. Small isolated DC/DC converters can provide that power. The same considerations apply in principle to gate drives for silicon, silicon carbide, and gallium nitride MOSFETs.

MGJ3 Series 3W Isolated DC/DC Converters

Murata Power Solutions Murata Power Solutions MGJ3 Series 3W Isolated DC/DC Converters provide configurable dual output voltages of +15V/-10V, +20V/-5V, and +15V/-5V. The series is ideal for powering high side and low side gate drive circuits for IGBTs and Silicon and Silicon Carbide MOSFETs in bridge circuits. MGJ3 DC/DC Converters offer a choice of asymmetric output voltages, providing optimum drive levels for best system efficiency and EMI. Murata Power Solutions MGJ3 Series meets the high isolation and dv/dt requirements commonly seen in bridge circuits used in motor drives and inverters. The series features a disable/frequency synchronization pin that simplifies EMC filter design. MGJ3 protection features include short circuit protection and overload protection.

MGJ DC/DC Converters

Murata Power Solutions MGJ DC/DC Converters are ideal for powering high-side and low-side gate drive circuits for IGBTs, silicon carbide, and MOSFETs in bridge circuits. A choice of asymmetric output voltages allows optimum drive levels for ideal system efficiency and EMI. Murata Power Solutions MGJ DC-DC Converters are available in 1W, 2W, 3W, and 6W.
