With a history dating back to the late 1960s, the annual six-hour race is the fourth-longest race on the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship schedule and the shortest endurance race. The 3.4-mile, 23-turn Watkins Glen International circuit offers a high-speed track with tight corners, particularly in "The Boot," a four-turn segment that curves out from the main track.

The Vasser Sullivan Lexus Racing team will be working to build on their momentum coming off several podium finishes this season. The full-time driver lineups for Vasser Sullivan Racing include Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat in the No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3 in the GTD PRO class, with Aaron Telitz and Frankie Montecalvo co-driving the No. 12 Lexus entry in GTD.
