Mouser Now Shipping Qorvo QPF4659 Wi-Fi 7 High-Power Front-End Module for IoT Applications
May 8, 2024 – Mouser Electronics, Inc., the New Product Introduction (NPI) leader™ empowering innovation, is now stocking the QPF4659, a 6 GHz Wi-Fi® 7 high-power front-end module (FEM) from Qorvo. The QPF4659 FEM is designed for Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) systems requiring a compact form factor with integrated matching for smart homes, customer premises equipment, wireless router and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
The Qorvo QPF4659 Wi-Fi 7 FEM, available from Mouser, offers compatibility with Matter™, a new connectivity standard for IoT devices. Matter is a universal software layer, a foundation for connected things and their applications, built upon and compatible with various protocols. By using standard IP as the communication protocol, Matter acts as the universal IoT standard compatible with the multiple protocols deployed in homes today.
The QPF4659 offers constant slope voltage logarithmic power detection for application feedback and integrated die-level filtering for improved harmonics, as well as 2.4 GHz rejection for database/data communications (DBDC) operation. The QPF4659 also incorporates a 6 GHz power amplifier (PA), a single pole two-throw switch (SP2T), and a by-passable low-noise amplifier (LNA) into a single device. The QPF4659 is well-suited for wireless access points, wireless routers, set-top boxes and customer premise equipment. The performance of this device is focused on optimizing the integrated power amplifier for a 5 V supply voltage. This design reduces power consumption while maintaining the highest linear output power and leading-edge throughput across a wide bandwidth (5.9 to 7.1 GHz).
The QPF4659 is supported by the QPF4659EVB evaluation board, also available from Mouser. The evaluation board features a pre-mounted QPF4659 module in a compact 3.0 mm2 laminate package, along with the required support circuitry. The QPF659EVB evaluation board provides an example application circuit, allowing rapid prototyping when incorporated into existing designs.
